Youth Art Works Teen Studio!
Our Youth Art Works! Teen Studio Program is entering the third year of providing Middle School and High School students a unique opportunity to work in a hands-on environment with professional artists.
Working in small groups, students spend 25-30 hours per quarter learning specific art-making skills as well as connecting students to the opportunities available in the career field as artists.
This program provides teens with an opportunity to explore a career path in the arts aw well as learning how to use art for self-expression during a highly critical transition for all youth.
Developing a Practice
Representation – Includes creating a portfolio, building a gallery show and promoting
Students learn everything from how to stretch a canvas, choosing a substrate, how to present their art, how to price, and how to hang a show. Students are also given opportunities to show and sell their art in various venues including Emerald Art Center.
