Our Youth Art Works! Teen Mentorship Program is entering the third year of providing Middle School and High School students a unique opportunity to work in a hands-on environment with professional artists. Working in small groups, students spend 25 – 30 hours per quarter learning specific art-making skills as well as connecting students to the opportunities available in the career field as artists.
Research has demonstrated the need for under-served youth to obtain first-hand experience with the arts as well as working with positive adult role models. The Mentorship Program provides these teens with an opportunity to explore a career path in the arts as well as learning how to use art for self-expression during a highly critical transition for all youth.
