Guest Artists: Oregon Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA)
November 1 - November 30
This exhibit is a juried selection from Oregon Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) members who submitted works either in a representational or abstract interpretation of the theme Bridge.
Our concept and interpretation of Bridge is varied, from physical bridges to the metaphysical. A bridge can be the symbolic image of chrysalis to butterfly. Bridges are a connection and a link. They are bonds and pathways—both physical and emotional—between people and things. A bridge joins, unites, and reconciles spans and traverses. It represents progress, stability, hope and transition.
We are a regional chapter of Studio Art Quilt Associates, Inc. (SAQA) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote the art quilt through education, exhibitions, professional development, documentation, and publications. SAQA defines an art quilt as “a creative visual work that is layered and stitched or that references this form of stitched layered structure.”
