Sally McCoy “Animal Portraits from Photos” September 12-13, 2015

Beginning and intermediate artists will paint an individual pet or other animal, in oil or acrylic.  We will work from photos because you can’t get your chosen animal to sit for hours.  Photo quality should be good and show at least one eye.  If you don’t have a photo, some will be provided.  First you will learn how to use a projector and charcoal to make a sketch – a way of saving time and frustration.  We will discuss backgrounds, color harmony, balance, and values.  You will be encouraged to share ideas and experiment with new techniques.
