Oil painter, Kris Stewart works in a style of representationalism influenced by the realism of the Old Masters. Her newest work is done in a “fractured” style, which accentuates the inherent energy of the objects depicted in her paintings.
Largely self taught, Kris began her art education at age 10 in a summer drawing class and continued to study art during her 4 years at Ohio Wesleyan University. She has studied with several nationally-known artists, including Dave Santillanes, Arne Westerman, Hugh Greer and Daniel Edmondson.
While living in Santa Fe, she was represented by galleries in Albuquerque’s Old Town and Madrid, NM.
